Frequently Asked Questions
Do Students Have to be Lutheran to Attend?
No. Enrollment is open to families of all backgrounds who desire a Christian education. Religious instruction is taught according to Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.
What is Classical Christian Education?
Classical Christian education teaches students how to think clearly and wisely, not just what to think. The curriculum focuses on language, math, reasoning, and communication through the Trivium — grammar, logic, and rhetoric — all grounded in Scripture.
What Grades Do You Offer?
Beginning Fall 2026, we offer Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. This builds on more than 35 years of preschool education at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
What Subjects Will My Child Study?
Students develop strong foundations in reading, phonics, handwriting, spelling, and arithmetic. They also explore literature, history, science, music, art, and physical education, with classical subjects like grammar and Latin introduced as they progress.
What Are Class Sizes Like?
We keep class sizes small so teachers can provide personal attention and support each child’s academic and spiritual growth.
What Will a Typical Day Look Like?
Each day begins with chapel, prayer, and Scripture, followed by classroom instruction. Students learn in a structured, supportive environment that encourages responsibility, respect, and a love of learning.
How do You Integrate Faith with Academics?
Faith is woven into every subject. Students study Scripture, pray, and learn Christian virtues daily while mastering academic skills.
How Does Your Preschool Relate to the Elementary School?
Christ the King Lutheran Preschool has served Cody families since 1989. Our elementary school builds on that foundation for a smooth transition into K–2 classical Christian education.
